Music Therapy
**Please note that whilst the building renovations are taking place Music Therapy is taking place at Carclew Youth Arts, Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide**
Music Therapy is an essential part of the Early Intervention (EI) program at Cora Barclay Centre. Music facilitates the development of pitch, intonation and rhythm in the speech of children with hearing loss.
Singing and music is an integral part of individual therapy sessions for each child and are essential elements of our Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT). Nursery rhymes and simple rhyming songs about everyday activities promote prosody (speech melody), language and listening skills in a fun and social way.
Weekly group music sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 11.00 to 12.00pm.
You can speak to your Early Intervention Therapist about which music group may best suit your child's needs.
Children who do not have a hearing loss are very welcome to attend music therapy too as the early educational benefits of our classes are strong and proven.
To book please call Reception on 08 8267 9200. Music Therapy has a small charge of $50 per term.
