Joy Althorpe is the on-site Clinical Psychologist available to families enrolled in Cora Barcaly Centre services. Joy is a highly qualified, very experienced clinical psychologist and mother of 6.

Joy is often found in PIP and music therapy. She is very approachable and warm and is always welcoming to all families on clinical service at the Centre.

Joy will be available for appointments every Monday, Tuesday and Friday morning. If you would like to make an appointment, please let your EI therapist know and they will arrange this on your behalf.

Joy is available to talk abotu issues which impact on your role as a parent and issues directly related to your child. Example include:

  • Grief and loss issues
  • Adjustment issues
  • Worries and concerns about a child
  • Behaviour management and positive parenting
  • Enjoying parenting
  • Self care as a parent
  • Sleep issues
  • Relationship / communication issues
  • Feelng depressed of anxious; skills in manaing mood
  • Managing stress
  • Problem solving
  • Sibling issues
