Cora Barclay Centre appoints a NEW Fundraising Coordinator

Cora Barclay Centre welcome's a full time fundraising coordinator as the newest member to the administration team.

Cora Barclay passes away peacefully aged 86

Cora Barclay O.B.E. 

 

Born 22nd February 1923 – Died on 7th November 2009

 

For over 35 years Cora Barclay was an inspired and visionary teacher of children with hearing loss. She was Principal of the South Australian Oral School from 1952 until her retirement in1988 and worked tirelessly to promote the benefits of teaching children who were deaf to speak. In recognition of her vision, dedication and leading role in deaf education, the SA Oral School was named the Cora Barclay Centre in 1991. Today, the Centre has an international reputation for excellence and Cora’s legacy underpins the family centred philosophy of the service.

Cora Barclay Centre Wins Second Inernational Award

The Washington based Alexander Graham Bell Association of the Deaf has awarded its prestigious 2008 Rookie of the Year Award to Cora Barclay Centre therapist Hillary Ganek. The award recognizes an outstanding young professional who is training to become a Certified Auditory-Verbal therapist (AVT).
