Launch of First Voice
On the 7th October at Admiralty House the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, launched First Voice - an alliance of Australian / New Zealand auditory verbal therapy Centre's of which Cora Barclay is a member.

Jasmine Makes History
12 month old Jasmine, born profoundly deaf in both ears, made South Australian history as the first SA child to have simultaneous bilateral cochlear implants – a procedure in which a cochlear implant is surgically inserted into each ear during the one operation.

Kelly Vincent MLC visit the Centre

We were honoured that Kelly Vincent, Dignity for Disability MLC, visited recently. She was shown through the Centre and talked at length with CEO Michael Forwood and Program Manager Robyn Phillips, about the challenges children with hearing loss face as they learn to hear, listen and speak. She agreed to be on Michael's table at the Centre's Quiz Night to be held on April 2nd 2011 in Prince Alfred College's new facility.

2010 SA Variety Bash
The Cora Barclay Centre makes a successful debut in the event
The 2010 SA Variety Bash completed the 8 day journey travelling across some amazing South Australian Tracks. Departing from Murray Bridge - Loveday - Lake Cullulleraine - Mildura - Bindara - White Cliffs - Broken Hill - Hawker - finishing in Clare on Saturday 21 August.

Significant commitment by Federal Labor Party to provide hearing impaired kids with a great start
A national coalition of hearing health providers First Voice* has welcomed the announcement by the Federal Labor Party that it will provide funding of $6,000 dollars per child per year for two years similar to the Autism Support package.
