In Australia, people on a government pension are often entitled to a susidised assessment and rehabilitation program. Sometimes the service is at no cost to the individual, sometimes there is a small fee of around $35 a year for batteries and repairs when hearing aids are prescribed.
How do i find out if I qualify for free hearing services?
To qualify for free hearing aid services you will first need a voucher from the office of hearing services (OHS), a part of the department of health and aging. To get a voucher you will need to apply by filling out a simple form and post it to the office of hearing services. once you have your voucher you are entitled to take it to any office of hearing services qualified practitioner and be assessed.
