Christine has a passion for helping children who are deaf and hearing impaired to maximise their opportunities to develop spoken language. She has personal experience of the challenges facing these children and their families as her own daughter received services from CBC when she was in school.
Since Christine started working at CBC in 2005 she has completed her Master’s in Education (deaf studies) through Melbourne University as well as becoming a certified LSLS Auditory-Verbal Therapist. Christine also coordinates the Cora Barclay Centre Music Program and Parent Infant Program (PIP).

Lia Hardy
Speech & Language Pathologist; Auditory-Verbal Therapist Intern
After completing her honours degree in psychology and sociology at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, Lia moved to South Australia to commence the Masters of Speech Pathology program at Flinders University (completed in 2009). Lia’s interest in hearing impairment combined with extra courses and clinical placements in audiology at Flinders have inspired her to pursue a career as an Auditory-Verbal therapist.

Sarah Lacanilao
Speech and Language Pathologist, Auditory-Verbal Therapy Intern
Sarah has a wealth of experience in assisting children and adults in areas of speech and language development. After completing a Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Sciences (majoring in Psychology, Sociology and Geography), she moved overseas to teach English in South Korea and Brazil.
These experiences led her to commencing a Masters in Speech Pathology at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia and her current job as an Auditory-Verbal Therapist Intern at the Cora Barclay Centre.
Her elective in Audiology combined with various clinical experiences has furthered her interest in assisting the development of speech and language in children with hearing impairments.

Niva Nair
Speech Pathologist, Auditory-Verbal Therpy Intern
Niva has a Masters of Speech Pathology from Flinders University and is part of the Cora Barclay Centre’s Auditory-Verbal Therapy training program.
Niva is returning to university to study and therefore will have a very limited caseload in 2012.

Robyn Phillips

Robyn started working at the CBC in 1999 as an Auditory-Verbal Therapist. Before working at the CBC, Robyn was a registered nurse, a high school teacher and a Teacher of the Deaf with the Department of Education.
Robyn has a unique perspective in that her son is profoundly deaf. She and her family received services from the CBC, which sparked her interest in helping other children in South Australia have the same opportunity to learn to listen, speak, and thrive in mainstream education.

Sharon Price
Audiologist, Speech Pathologist, Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist
Qualifications
BSc Honours (Audiology); MSpPth (Speech Pathology)
Sharon has come to Australia from the U.K. with an exceptional educational background in Audiology. She studied at the University of Wales, Swansea and most of her clinical training was undertaken at the University Hospital of Wales. Sharon was a parent representative for the quality assurance group for Newborn Hearing Screening Wales.
Sharon gained her Masters degree in Speech Pathology from Flinders University of South Australia. Her interest and passion for helping deaf/hard of hearing children and their families stems from an extensive family history of deafness; which include two of her three children. The combination of her Audiology and Speech Pathology knowledge coupled with her personal experience as the parent of deaf children makea Sharon a passionate Auditory-Verbal therapist.
